Do You Know Your Jiu-Jitsu Mindset?

Take the Test Today and Decover It!

Hello  Team,
You've probably heard the word "Mindset" a few times.
To describe Mindset simply and directly we can say that it is the way we think and look at life. How we choose to behave and the way we face problems and challenges says a lot about our Mindset.
One of the greatest benefits that Jiu-Jitsu can bring to you is self-knowledge. Grand Master Carlos Gracie Sr., the co-creator of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, once said:
"With Jiu-Jitsu I learned above all the great lesson, which was to get to know me deeply."
Before we look at the topic in practice we will better understand better and summarize the two definitions of Mindset. This concept was taken from the book (Mindset - The New Psychology of Success) by one of the world's leading experts in the fields of personality, social psychology and developmental psychology, Carol S. Dweck.
Through her research, Carol S. Dweck was able to find two types of mentalities in humans: The Fixed Mindset and the Growth Mindset.
“People in the "Fixed Mindset" believe results come primarily from talents and innate abilities. They don't think effort can fundamentally change one's capacity or have a significant impact on performance. They see the effort required for learning as an indication of their own inadequacies; they struggle badly when they come across obstacles and shortcomings.”
"In a growth mindset, people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work — brains and talent are just the starting point. This view creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment."
Now that you've got a better understanding of these concepts, take the test and find out what kind of Mindset you've been applying in training and learning Jiu-Jitsu.
Be honest with your answers and look at the results as an opportunity for you to further evolve your Jiu-Jitsu.
We wish you a great week of training,
