RODRIGO FAJARDO
3rd Degree Black Belt
Rodrigo Fajardo was born on March 29th, 1986 in Curitiba, Brazil.
Martial arts appeared in Rodrigo’s life as a desperate attempt from his parents to give his restless nature an outlet, and hopefully reliece some of his excess energy.
Rodrigo Fajardo started practicing Jiu-Jitsu in 2000 at Gracie Barra Curitiba under Professor Gustavo Muggitai who studied under Master Carlos Gracie Junior. After starting his teaching in 2003 as a Purple Belt, Rodrigo was awarded his Black Belt in 2007 and has gone on to become one of Jiu-Jitsu’s greatest middle heavyweight competitors.
He has competed and won many titles in his division, including the Black Belt division of the Europeans, South American, and coveted Brazilian National Championships. He is now the director of Gracie Barra schools in Curitiba and Ponta Grossa in Brazil.
Rodrigo also headed up the self-defense program for the Federal Police for the state of Parana in Brazil and coached BJJ for UFC and Pride Fighters.
