In our first video, Prof. Henrique is looking to perform a variation of the "Fireman's Carry" throw - known as Kata Gurums (shoulder wheel) in judo.

Note the detail that Prof. Henrique uses a particular grip to control the opponent's sleeve. By ducking under and wrapping the opponent's arm and wrist, Prof. Henrique achieves a high level of control over his opponent's upper body.

Our 2nd video shows another variation in the family of sacrifice throwing techniques.
VIDEO 2: Side drop yoko-otoshi
Pay attention to the detail of how Prof. Henrique pulls his opponent to the SIDE direction when he drops - as opposed to pulling the opponent directly forward. Prof Henrique points out this is a common mistake in performing the Yoko (which translates to side) Otoshi.
Special tip: When the thrower uses their entire bodyweight behind the throw (sacrificing their balance and weight) it is challenging for the opponent to avoid being taken down. Total commitment is required for sacrifice throws!
